Traditional party drink
This drink is traditionally served at parties and birthdays. Because it still contains about 15% alcohol after preparation, it is only suitable for adults. (Although the kids often come up with clever plans to get a little bit of the sweet stuff!)
Raw egg yolks
You can easily make the ponche crema yourself with our recipe. Are you afraid of using raw egg yolks? Actually it is not necessary; the alcohol in this recipe kills any harmful bacteria. If you prefer not to use them, replace the egg yolks with pasteurized eggs or with an equal amount of lawyer.
Ingredients:
- 2 cans condensed milk (2ร400 grams)
- 5 eggs
- quarter teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
- 250ml rum
- 1 tablespoon of strong coffee
Preparation of ponche crema:
Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites. The proteins are not used in this recipe.
beat the egg yolks until they are almost white in color and have doubled in volume several times.
Mix the beaten yolks with the other ingredients and stir well.
Then pour the ponche crema into bottles and make sure they are tightly closed.
It is best to keep the ponche crema bottles refrigerated.
They will remain unopened for at least 2 weeks. It is best to use an opened bottle within five days.
